Diversity Policy
Overview
This is a project for Diversity Policy to create an autonomous database entry system. We previously worked on a system where our internal users had to manually enter information (i.e. author, school, date). To make the system more efficient, we designed a system where the user can submit a single link or directory link and all the information would be parsed to get what we wanted.
For this project I worked in a team closely with other designers, project managers and developers to get an understanding of how the system should work.
As a team of designers, project managers, and developers, we all had our specific roles. My tasks involved redesigning the way links were submitted, drafts page to confirm our system was correctly working, and the archive page to see all submitted links in the database.
My Role
Previous Design
The previous design was complex in a way where Policy Managers submitted links, Policy Analysts picked assignments to fill out the information from the links, Content Writers wrote an abstract for the following assignments, and finally the Policy Manager looks over everything to finalize the submission.
Current Design
We wanted to take out the middle-man process by removing the role of Policy Analysts having to accept assignments to work on and manually fill out information. We do this by creating an autonomous system, so that information can be filled out efficiently and faster. Instead, the user has to fill in the links and some information (i.e. University, City and State).
